As a result of changes to the development plan system, the Council is unable to prepare new items of supplementary planning guidance. Instead, under the transitional arrangements regulations1 the Council has produced updated Interim Policy Advice (IPA) that will provide more detailed accompanying guidance relating to specific areas of planning policy, and will need to prepare any further examples as Supplementary Planning Documents (SPD) for them to carry the fullest available weight. As of July 2007 a number of IPA documents had already been updated and produced; these are in green text. The full list of IPAs/SPDs to be produced is set out below;2
